The 12th Day of CropTrak – Try out CropTrak on the Web

2020 HIGHLIGHTS

CropTrak released a web platform some time ago, but we’ve been updating it this year to replace the remaining administrative functions from CTAT including the ASSET MANAGEMENT and FORM DESIGN modules. So, coming in January 2021, you will no longer need to use the old PC-based CTAT application. You will be able to access all your administrative functions from the web platform. And since it is a WEB tool – it can run on any device.

Web 6 adds the new FORM BUILDER function freeing administrators from the PC-Based CTAT application. Now you can update and add forms from any device using your browser.

Web-based ASSET EDITOR with more features to help your team better manage your geospatial data elements each year

But we didn’t stop there. We wanted to add support for the Android phone to offer our international customers more device options. So, we released an Android supported version of CropTrak this year for selected customers that will be going global in 2021.

As part of the Android rollout, we also streamlined the mobile interface for both Android and iOS enabling consistent user experiences across both platforms with worklists, improved business rule integration and easier, faster workflows.

LOOKING FORWARD IN 2021

CropTrak in 2021 will continue to streamline the application and improve performance but will also be working on the following enhancements for 2021:

  • New Features to support workflow decision tools for more complicated business rules to help you get more done, in more places with more flexibility than ever before.
  • Mobile Improvements in 2021 will continue to focus on streamlining the interface for ease of use, maximizing performance to support more devices and looking at more ways to help you get more done with the tools you already use.
  • Web Enhancements including integrated dashboards, Infoview Editor, Binder and Worklist Editors. Our goal is to provide faster performance, more formatting options and integrated Tableau dashboards to help you get more decision-making analytics from your data.
(See a sneak peak of coming web features below)

Web updates in 2021 will feature a new, updated user manager that will make it easier to configure and manage roles and permissions.

Web updates also include a web-based editor for Infoviews providing more flexibility in where you edit and even a preview function.

The 11th Day of CropTrak – Converting Yellowfin to Tableau

The power of the data that CropTrak enables you to collect doesn’t mean much if you are not able to efficiently use that information to make decisions. So, we started deploying Tableau in 2020 to our Enterprise customers to better enable them to visualize, analyze and interpret their data

While CropTrak continues to be an open platform supporting any compatible MySQL reporting solution, CropTrak chose to provide Tableau for our Enterprise customers because many of them were already using Tableau in their operation. But we also believe that the flexibility the platform provides reflects our own philosophy of empowering our Customers to do more.

But we didn’t stop there. We also beefed up the reporting database, provided more expansive views and adjusted our architecture to better enable the type of analysis our Customers need.

Contact our support team if you’d like to learn more about using Tableau in your workflows.

The 10th Day of CropTrak – Mobile Printing for QR Codes

We talked about QR codes in an earlier post and how they can help you share data even when you are offline. We have proven this approach with the deployment of an integrated printing solution using our patent-pending QR-to-Form technology and the Zebra ZQ520 mobile printer. The ZQ520 was used because it is designed for mobile workers needing a rugged mobile printer for use in the field.

Using CropTrak and your Bluetooth-supported Zebra printer, you can easily provide items like load tickets to your contracted drivers or place a QR code label on a bin for tracking your harvest from the field to your packing or processing facility and even into your cold storage facility.

We know you may still have to use paper. When you do, make it easy, use CropTrak and Zebra. Stay compliant, improve traceability, and increase transparency without adding complexity.

The 9th Day of CropTrak – Use Infoviews to Generate Worklists

Infoviews have been around for a long time in CropTrak. But with the release of Worklists, Infoviews become even more powerful. When you create an Infoview, you can do things like have it check for specific information and then automatically add tasks to your worklists based on your rules.

Infoviews can help you in many ways:

  • Configure repeatable tasks so they automatically get added to your worklist,
  • Ensure alerts are sent when people need to be notified,
  • Provide real-time information to users like which fields are OK to enter and which ones are not,
  • Adjust your forecast based on new scouting and yield estimate information,
  • Make sure important information is collected at the right time
    … and more

Infoviews are the CropTrak pocket assistant that can use your data to view, analyze and make decisions to help you accomplish more, without having to DO more.

And coming in Q1 2021 is our new web editor for Infoviews (see above). The new and updated editor will make it even easier for you to edit, preview and deploy Infoviews to your users.

Want to learn more about the power of the Infoview and how you can integrate your business rules into your workflows to save time and still stay on top of all your operational tasks? Check out our support materials or ask us. We’d love to help you learn how they can help your organization do more in less time
